Let us make Braj Green Again

Van Mahotsava celebrated in village Chhatanpura
Tree Plantation and Public Meeting organized

 ‘Van Mahotsava’ was celebrated at village Chhatanpura under the joint auspices of Paryavaran Mitra and Dept. of forest, Firozabad district. Local community was made   aware of the fact that they are the proud residents of Braj Bhoomi which had been historically covered with forest area covered of variety of flora and fauna. Now the entire region not only faces the problem of ravishing forest cover but even trees and plant varieties are also diminishing day by day making the region barren and dry. In the absence of green cover, culturally and mythologically rich Braj Pradesh would loose it’s identity and sheen. Awareness campaign also included suggesting covered methods for forestation and preservation of plants. SDO forest Dept. Ram Awtar emphasised the benefits of forests and said that rich river one in the region is most favourable for developing extensive forest cover in this area. There was to be an extensive forest cover in this region but lack of awareness away people for the need to preserve forest resources and its continuous neglect has led to the huge tract of earth turn into a fallow land.

Erosion of forest cover has turned the earth barren infertile. He called every one to joined needs for protection, preservation and extension of forest cover in the region. Sri Praveesh Yadav, Principal Kaila Devi JH. School asked every village to take resolution for preservation of trees and initiate plantation. He said that we must develop a collective consciousness to protect trees and to prohibit anybody destroying forests and trees. Participant youngest, girls and boys both sang awareness songs dedicated to preservation of environment. The huge gathering of people from all sections of life including people from adjoining village Nagla Bhoop, Bakalpur etc. turned occasion in to a great moment. Stree Shakti the women participants from the village not only planted trees but also adopted trees by resolving to preserve and protect as their children. Paryavaran Mitra and forest Dept. officers also initiated a plantation drive.

Dr. Subodh Dubey secretary Paryavaran Mitra reminded the gathering about the mythological linkages between ‘Krishna katha’ and cultural history committed towards preservation of environment and forest cover. He argued that arrestors have been move sensitive towards environment protection and in modern time have turned matter and environment as an enemies, which has provided disastrans for the entire mankind. Dr. Dubey called up on every member of the society and participating women to rise and lake the lead in environment protection initiatives Dr. Dubey also praised and examplitied the role of several environmentalists across India who have taken upon the cause and their efforts have sensitized the entire society regarding environmental concern.

Present in the gathering were Forest S.D.O S.N. Yadav, Ram Gopal Kanojia, Village head Smt. Urmila Devi, Bijendra Singh Yadav Thekedar, Rajveer Singh, Ram Sewak Yadav, Maharaj Singh along with other which made the event meaningful.
