Tree plantation programme was organised jointly by Patwardhan High School, “Paryawaran Mitra”(An NGO sponsored by Bajaj Electricals Ltd), Social Forestry Dn. & wild life wing of the Forest Department.

It was unique because all the authorities present assured 100% survival of seedlings. The planting was carried out by Mr. Bhangu”s method of root watering (& not surface watering).

A bisleri bottle after cutting the bottom portion was also grounded with the seedling upside down. The watering to the plant will be carried out by putting water in this bisleri bottle to directly water the roots. This will save water from evaporation & the resultant water vapour will not damage the plant.

Mr. Sayeed Khan Head Master informed the activities of the school & the interest developed amongst the students to make orange city No. One green city of India.

Mr. Hemant Meshram Dy. Director Social Forest explained Vanrath & planting on different schools & colleges, institutions & govt. offices during 2006 rains. He thanked all those who co-operated in the programmes of tree plantation.

Mr. Kantharia a Paryavaran Mitra & senior executives of Bajaj Electricals through the audio visual presentation explained the activities of “Paryavaran Mitra” its membership drive, how to tackle the pollution through air,water, soil & atmosphere.

Another significant aspect was that all tree guards were prepared by school students under the guidance of Mr. Thakre H.M.technical.

Mr. Jarnail Singh Field Director (Project Tiger & conservation of Forests) requested students to be nature loving. He said during “Samudra Manthan” the poison (Jahar) was consumed by Lord Shiva to save the world. Now a days tree are absorbing all the pollution viz. CO2 & CO etc & saving the human life.

Shri Thakre H.M.(Technical) thanked Bajaj Electricals for sponsoring the programme and also the forest officers for guidance.
