VENUE: M.B.S. PUBLIC SCHOOL, BHUBANESWAR
DATE OF ACTIVITY : 21ST DECEMBER 2006
NO. OF PARTICIPANTS : 42
Earlier we had two cleaning Drive programmes. So this
time we thought of having something different and decided
to organise a Painting Competition in a School. Accordingly
BSSM approached the Secretary & Principal of M.B.S.
Public School, Bhubaneswar who were very much cordial
and agreed to our request. The date was fixed for 21st
September 2006 since most of the Schools will remain
closed FROM 22.12.06 on account of X’mas holidays.
At 10.30 a.m. we reached at the school and met the
Principal to organise the programme. She extended full
co-operation and directed few of her collegueas to join
us for necessary arrangements. With their help we put
up the PM Banners, arranged the dias, put the Painting
competition Banner on the wall.
At 11.00 a.m. all the participants entered the room
followed by Principal & other teaching staff to
the competition room. Mr. P.K. Tripathy, BSSM, Bhubaneshwar
addressed the participants regarding aims and objectives
of Paryavaran Mitra and requested everyone to involve
themselves to spread this cause.
At 11.15 a.m. Mr. P.C. Panigrahi, AM (Luminaires) addressed
the gathering and in simple words he made his speech
and advised all the students to keep thier school, home
and surroundings clean and contribute towards Paryavaran
as a human being.
At 11.30 a.m. we distributed the Art Papers and Crayons
to the participants and made them ready for the competition.
Mr. K.B. Kurup, Sales Support Executive supervised the
seating arrangement and helped in distribution of Painting
materials.
At 11.45 a.m.the competition started and the topic
was to draw mainly on Paryavaran and to save it from
pollution. Some of the students did very nicely and
it was heartening to note their imagination on paryavaran
and its real benefits.
The time duration was 45 mintues. At 12.30 p.m. the
competition was over. All the paintings were collected.
Mr. Tripathy, Mr. P.C. Panigrahi, Mr. A.K. Nag, Principal
and an Art Teacher of the school evaluate the painting
and shortlisted the candidates. Accordingly prizes were
distributed.
We have donated a Garbage container to the School sponsored
by one of our Fan Dealers
M/s. Paradise Enterprises, Bhubaneswar.
At 1.00 pm PM co-ordinator gave vote of thanks to each
and everyone for the active co-operation to make this
competition a total success. The Principal, Secretary
and other school teaches are very much overwhelmed and
invited us to have many more similar events in thier
school for which they will extend their full co-operation
in future.
