3rd Annual Day function of Paryavaran Mitra was conducted by Chennai PM Parivar on 24th September 2007 at Kodandaramaswamy Temple at T. Nagar, Chennai.
Dr. Sekhar, District Governor, Lions Club was the Chief Guest. Dr. Sekhar, by profession is a Physiotherapist and associated with Lions since 1998. He has visited various parts of the world and done so many educational and social projects for the upliftment of Society and Environment. The projects done by him includes Blood donation, saplings, eye camps, awareness programme among school children and Tree Planting.
The programme stated by 10.00 AM, by opening prayer song by Mrs. Radha Balaji, followed by Lighting of the Lamp by the Chief Guest and other persons who have come for this activity. Welcome address was made, followed by a small write up on Paryavaran Mitra, which was presented by Mr. L.N. Raghuraman, Chennai BSSM.
Our PM Co-ordinator, Mrs. Annamma Varghese, read out the message sent by President of Paryavaran Mitra to the audience.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Sekhar delivered his speech on various projects he carried out and appreciated the interest taken by Paryavaran Mitra / Bajaj Electricals Limited towards the correction of environmental dis-orders. He wished that Paryavaran Mitra / Bajaj Electricals Limited should go long way and continue to do such activities for the benefit of the environment. He cited examples on noise pollution – how the same can be rectified and tree plantation and its benefits.
Mr. R. Sabarirajan, AGM Appl –South has given his small speech, in which he said that in the recent marriage which he has attended, a sapling has been given as a token of gift to all the relatives & friends, who attended the marriage, which also gives a message of the importance of tree plantation.
Mr. Gopalakrishnan, a well-wisher informed that we should see that whatever sapling has been done is protected and then only the purpose is served. He appreciated the Bajaj’s interest in protecting the environment.
The above was followed by sapling inside the Temple premises by our Chief Guest and Chennai PM Parivar.
The programme ended with Vote of Thanks by Mr. L.N. Raghuraman, BSSM.
