Chandigarh Branch had organized Painting competition in the Little Angel School , Zirakpur on 4th August 2007 . The objective of this painting competition was not only make aware the children about the environment but at the same time educate & involve parents in the above cause. The response was overwhelming.
During inaugural address Mr.Sanjeev Mehta , BSSM , Chandigarh emphasized on the need for saving environment and requested the teachers to spread awareness for protecting the environment and efficient & economical use of water through their colleague teachers and students. He opined that teachers are the only persons who can spread the message of importance of saving environment & water conservation .
Children studying in Standard 4th to 6th were eligible to participate in this painting competition.. Students were given the topic a day before the date of competition so that they can discuss with their parents . Topic given to them was “How to protect our environment “. Students had actively participated in this competition. The students expressed their ideas innovatively in their paintings. Duration of the painting was for 2 hours and more than 100 students participated in this competition.
Trophies were given to best three paintings. Certificates were given to all the participants. The Competition as well as prize award function was well recorded in the form of photographs (few of them are enclosed). Brief note of this activity and photographs was published in the leading News paper i.e AMAR UJALA , DANIK JAGRAN & PUNJAB KESARI . Cutting of the paper are attached for your reference. |
