Paryavaran Mitra an N.G.O. (Adopted by of Bajaj Electricals) was established on 24th Sept 2004. Since then it is working for conservation of environment. It has planted more than 25000 saplings all over India. Last year at Patwardhan school Paryavaran Mitra has take a drive & today all the plant have grown upto 5 to 6 feet’s.
This year also plantation drive was undertaken. The seedlings are planted by root watering method instead of normal surface watering method. It conserves water & reduced evaporation losses. The method involves inserting used bisleri bottle upside down & cutting broad bottom making tunnel type of structure, easy to water.
The cost of tree guards is provided by Paryavaran Mitra the tree guards are made by school students in school workshop. The seedlings are supplied by social forest deptt as part of vanmahotsva programme.
A drawing competition of all neighboring schools students on Environment was held on 22-9-07 & the Certificate of participation by 70 students were distributed by guest & the 1st, 2nd & 3rd prize was distributed in two categories.
Shri J. P. KANTHARIA of Paryavaran Mitra greeted all the PM members & associated members on its completion of 3 successful year of Paryavaran Mitra. And narrated the progress made by made by N.G.O & read message of PM president Mrs. Kiran Bajaj & slide show of PM activates shown to audience. He further emphasized on “The least we can do – 1) To avoid Noise Pollution 2) To avoid Air Pollution 3) To avoid Land Pollution & 4) On Water Usage / To avoid Water Pollution.
Shri BISWAJEET MITRA, Dy. Director. Social Forestry, Nagpur desired use of unused pages of notebooks. This will save trees & environment.
DR. SUNIL PANDE, Dy. Director (NEERI) & Ex. student of Patwardhan school invited all students to NEERI. On 26th Sept. when NEERI will be open to students of schools & colleges & interact with scientists to study various pollutions, its impact & how to reduce them.
Shri R.S.BHANGU, Retd. Asst. Conservator of Forest & Ex. Student desired the students study green house effect plant of many seedlings to save environment. SHRI. S. KHAN principal of Patwardhan school thanked all guests, teachers & students for making the programme a grand success. Smt. DASARWAR, teacher conducted the programme proceedings.
